"Aaron and Hur held his hands up—one on one side, one on the other—so that his hands remained steady until sunset." Exodus 17:12

The Lawrence Family
Hello! Thank you for your interest in Arizona Reservation
Ministries! We are so excited to be able to serve Christ on the San
Carlos Apache Reservation! We took the “scenic route” to becoming
missionaries. Dale and I met at Pacific Christian College in
Fullerton CA (now Hope International University.) We married in 1978
and later moved to Fountain Hills, AZ where Dale served as the elder
responsible for missions in the church we helped establish, Christ’s
Church of Fountain Hills. Dale’s vocation was a
Paramedic-Firefighter on the Hazardous Materials Team for the City
of Phoenix. I was the Director of Children’s Ministries at Christ’s
Church, running
children’s programming for the church and their
preschool. In 1988, we were introduced to a ministry with Native
Americans just 2 ½ hours from our upper-middle class community. We
would be serving there by August of 1991! In just one year, Dale
became that ministry’s Executive Director. With God’s great help,
the budget increased from $150,000 per year to over a million
dollars annually. Those ministered to increased from 350 to 3,500
per year! In our last year with the American Indian Christian
Mission, we were blessed to watch as over 200 people accepted Christ
as their personal savior! For more about the switch south to the San
Carlos Apache Reservation, look under “ARM's History” on this site.
We have been incredibly blessed as we have tried to remain faithful
to our service to Jesus Christ. Our children, Jacque (‘81), Jon
(’83), Justin (’89) and Jenna (’90) have been faithful servants and
delights to our lives! In July of 2004, Jacque became Mrs. Daniel
Thompson of Marana AZ (an incredibly wonderful son-in-law!) and is
now a 5th grade teacher in that school system. Jon married his
sweetheart, Linda Kerr, (whom we all dearly love), in September of
2004. Jon and Linda made us grandparents in August of 2006 when our
“Jasmine Rose” entered this world. Justin will be a senior at Globe
High School in the fall of 2007. He’s an accomplished guitarist,
baseball player and leader of his youth group here in Globe. Jenna
keeps quite busy with drama, soccer and photography. She has earned
the role of “editor” in the photography department when she begins
her junior year this fall. Both Justin and Jenna are willing
helpers in a variety of ways within this ministry as their busy
schedules allow.Dale and Diana are ARM’s Executive Directors. Their various gifts and abilities compliment each other. God is the ultimate Director of this ministry, allowing this couple to serve in leadership capacities.
Dale is responsible for ARM’s finances, visiting work groups once
they arrive (until new staff arrives!) the ARM representative
with many Tribal agencies and more. When needed, he also lends his
expertise in the construction of homes, remodeling of church
buildings, etc. We can also see that Dale has a gift in vision
casting. His heart’s desire is to begin mentoring and encouraging
Apache men. As our staff continues to grow, we pray that desire may
become a reality soon!
Diana is also ARM’s Development Director. It is her
responsibility to oversee the publications of this ministry, write
and call those interested in partnering with us and traveling to
tell others about what God is doing here! Sometimes people come
visit us. It is her joy to take them on a “prayer journey” of the
San Carlos Apache Nation so that they can more fully understand the
vast needs of this Tribe and this ministry. She is also blessed to
lead a Bible Study each week at the Tribal Shelter Care, an assisted
living home for some wonderful Apache friends. Other areas of
responsibility include coordinating the arrangements for visiting
work groups (until more staff arrives!) and hiring, encouraging and
leading ARM team members. We need your prayers!
- Pray for God to grant us wisdom each day as challenges arrive.
- Please pray for Dale’s health-he’s been faithfully serving Christ in spite of fibromyalgia for eleven years!
- Please pray for Diana’s melanoma of 1995 and 2001 to never return, and heart problems currently under physician’s care.
- Pray for our children and grand daughter as they grow into mighty warriors for Christ.
- Please pray for our finances and wisdom with them.
- Please pray for our family members who don’t yet know Christ.
